What is sago soup? Wikipedia explains it here. It's a very popular dessert in Taiwan and Hong Kong.
I have never seen anywhere selling sago soup in Berlin. Recently I sold sago soup at my friend's party. When I prepared it at home, I found that it's actually super easy to make.
Ingredients:
Perl Sago (It can be found in Edeka and is less than 1 EUR/box)
Honey (You can change it to sugar if you are a vegan.)
Litchi (I used the canned litchi, because I don't know where to find fresh litchi in Berlin. I guess there is no any. :( )
Coconut Milk

Perl Sago I used. |
Method:
1. Pour Perl Sago into boiling water that is approximately twice the amount of Perl Sago.
2. Boil Perl Sago briefly and let simmer for about 10 minutes. When Perl Sago become transparent, it means they are cooked. I turn the fire off with the lid covering the pot when Perl Sago become half-transparent to save the power/gas.)
3. When Perl Sago are cooked, add honey/sugar to mix with it while the pot is still warm, so honey/sugar can be melted.
4. Pour canned litchi together with the juice in the can into the mixer. Finely mix them.
5. Pour the litchi smoothie and coconut milk into the sugared Perl Sago. Stir the soup until all the ingredients are finely mixed.
6. Enjoy it!
